Characteristics of this fort

The fort of Villey-le-sec, built after the war of 1870, arises from the system of defence "SERE OF RIVIERES". It has the unique characteristic to have completely contained the houses of the village by a surrounding wall making of Villey-le-sec the only strengthened village in France at the end of XIX° century.
